You’ve just taken me right back to my childhood - off ground touch, run outs, sticky toffee and lots more. No shops were open on Sundays and half day on a Wednesday. A paperboy and everyone had a milkman. And the Corona man was the best day. Thanks for reminding me of my happiest days 🥰

Absolute facts! I went to Sunday school I remember the shop opening on a Sunday, Wednesday shops closed, lots of power cuts, my mum would go and order the coal and coal man would deliver it to our coal bunker in our garden, rag and bone man.

I believe it was when costs pushed women to work & the family unit suffered. The lack of social cohesion when people ate at different times & then of course the smart mobile phone. Decline of the ability for many to retain or develop consideration for others

You are so very right. I used to tell my children what a Sunday was like a family day where you sat down and did things together because there wasn’t anything else to do. As a kid I thought it was quite boring but I would do anything to have that back again

That’s interesting! Personally, I would rather shops open fully on a Sunday. I work long hours during the week. I find that I can’t do what I want to after work Monday-Friday because I’m shattered. Saturday is the free day. Sunday is a rush because we’re on the clock. But it is in interesting perspective!
