She defended Snape by getting his lame ass freed twice and almost joining the hexing herself when she should've just cut him off as soon as she knew how he was treating other muggleborns. Also, despite the fact that we barely know how their friendship was I don't think she was a good friend TO SEVERUS. She only was there because he knew everything about the magic world. I feel like they hate on Lily hassss to be sexism. Because y'all loveeeeee Regulus or Mulciber, who actively bullied or hated muggle borns. but the moment Lily God forbid grows a backbone and decides to unfriend her semi toxic friend. It’s now terrible and she’s a terrible person. Do I think everything really did was correct? No. Do I think something she did was insensitive? Yes. and also we don’t know if she actually laughed bc it's from Severus perspective. And everyone ignores the fact that Severus was also a bad friend. and he was ungrateful and she has every single right to unfriend him. But I’m not saying what she did say about his underpants was right. It’s not just a black-and-white situation. but if his first reaction to being shamed for being defended by his friend is to be racist to the friend that supported him showed his true colors to Lily. That she felt for a long time and she refused to acknowledge. She refused to acknowledge or unfriend him for the fact that he was hanging out with people who act actively bullied muggleborns. And even when she did confront him about it, she didn’t unfriend him after. And on multiple occasions, she defended him from what was implied. She was not the of best friend to him. But she was also not a bad friend. And she was rightfully mad at him and she was right to unfriend him after he literally confirmed he was aiming to be a death eater.

She wasn’t a good friend nor a bad friend, the same way as Severus. Yes, she saved Severus from the bullying, but then she dated said bully and continued dating him while he bullied Severus. In my opinion, the whole situation between lily the marauders and Snape were really complicated. I’d never say that the marauders were good people, just to make that clear. I’m not gonna defend them for the shi they did. It’s more the situation between Sev and Lily which were made more complicated because of them. Lily did wrong for defending James but also, she was hurt by Sev because of him calling her a slur. Also they’re teenagers, they make mistakes.

Yknow what’s sad about their “friendship” is that if only Severus has good “genuine “ friends not housemates that uses him for ulterior motives if he has good people surrounding and supporting him, he might realize that his friendship with Lily was not worth it for both of them.

i understand lily not wanting to be Severus' friend anymore. that's her right and they were way too different to be friends as adults anyway. what i dont and will never understand is her marrying james. maybe It's cause i was bullied before but who tf marries someone who they knew were a horrible arrogant bully all their childhood.
