@inmind71: Jesus and the Buddha lived centuries apart, from different cultures. They taught very different things about God, the self, and freedom. But they both spoke to the same human being. A human being who suffers. This post asks something simpler: Did they sometimes see the same truths about us? Hatred does not have to become more hatred. Jesus taught: “Love your enemies.” The Buddha taught: “Hatred is never appeased by hatred in this world. By non-hatred alone is hatred appeased.” This post is offered in the hope of building a small bridge of understanding between different traditions. Understanding does not require agreement. Perhaps we can still disagree deeply, while seeing one another a little more clearly and recognising the goodness that exists across different paths. Sources Jesus: Luke 6:27–28 — love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:36 — “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” Mark 7:21 — evil thoughts arising from within the human heart Matthew 7:3 — the speck and the beam Matthew 6:24 — “You can’t serve both God and Mammon” Luke 6:46 — “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?” Buddha: Dhammapada 5 — hatred is not appeased by hatred, but by non-hatred MN 21, Kakacūpama Sutta — the Simile of the Saw AN 6.63, Nibbedhika Sutta — “Intention, I tell you, is kamma” Dhammapada 252 — the faults of others are easy to see, one’s own are hard to see Dhammapada 216 — “From craving springs grief, from craving springs fear” Dhammapada 19 — reciting the teaching without living it #buddhistteachings #buddhawisdom #jesuschrist #jesus #jesusandbuddha

Dear friend, this post is offered in the spirit of understanding. 🙏 Difficult questions are welcome. We can disagree deeply while remaining respectful, recognising the goodness in one another, and leaving each person free to examine and follow their own faith or path. 🙏🙏🙏

I like Jesus’s teachings. I really think he did teach us the great lessons for the world but what doesn’t sit right with me is when he claimed to be the son of God and the existence of God himself. Was he truly enlightened being like Buddha but got mixed with the complicated universal consciousness mess to believe he was sent into the world by God to save people? In short, I suspect that he was ordinary human that was awakened by a powerful source of consciousness and thought the consciousness was God himself. This is just my interpretation.

Buddha said that people who believe in a creator should ask question to their creator that If God created the world, then why didn’t god create happiness world forever. Why god created murderers, rapists, cheaters, liars, poverty, birth, death, diseases, and so much suffering?
If God is almighty and forgiving, He should be able to forgive everyone’s wrong actions and create a world of lasting happiness. But in reality, we see endless suffering everywhere. If a true creator exist then there would be no suffering, only peace world forever.
Buddhism teaches that all these problems come from the confused minds of sentient beings.
Therefore, we should believe in the law of cause and effect, which is called karma.
Nowadays, many scientists increasingly find resonance with Buddhism, as it is not a religion rooted in blind faith but one grounded in logic and reason. The Buddha himself advised, “Do not accept anything blindly. It is very difficult to obtain a human life again; even my teachings should be examined critically. If my teachings are supported by logic and reason and prove beneficial, only then should they be accepted.”
