@teacherteresauk: Civil service 2027 Fast Stream is now open, I would definitely recommend applying if you’re a teacher looking to get into the CS and gain experience and skills that can get you through to higher paying positions and grades and an insight into what you enjoy job wise outside of teaching. I’ve said it before but educators have so many transferable skills and I think sometimes impostor syndrome and not knowing anything but teaching is what stops people making the much needed change! Just something to think about #civilservicejobs #exteacher #careerchange #leavingteaching #ukteachers

If you don't get into the fast stream then there are plenty of opportunities for ex teachers to get SEO roles as they have lots of transferrable skills. Possibly jump in at G7 for the right position. We've had a few younger ex teachers come in at HEO and generally they are in with a good shout of an SEO role within a year or two.

Wouldn’t recommend fast stream and it’s not permanent contract. You are paid less than your counterparts in the same department.

It’s very hard to get into, the pay is a bit funny as you may be paid less than people doing the same job as you’re paid by the cabinet office rather than the department you’re working in. It can be really difficult but also a great opportunity.
