nana :
they dont like hearing experiences where u did that exact SAME thing (just in school) bc they dont count school (or unpaid internships or volunteer or job shadowing too actually) as "work experience" nowadays

Entry level = low pay but you need to know what you are doing so they don’t have to pay people with work experience.

Entry level is great for a retiree who’s looking to learn something new, wants some pocket change and to get out of the house preferably part time.

I keep seeing hiring managers say "I'd rather have the person with 30 years of experience than someone with a college degree." then they get mad at me when I say "well in 2 years when I'm 37, I'll have 30 years of work experience. would you consider hiring me then?"

Unfortunately what it seems they usually mean is “entry level” FOR OUR BUSINESS not entry level for the job market. Classic corporate language bs

Entry level roles are either 2-4 years work experience, or no work experience but the job is solely cold calling. Anything else has you competing with 200+ applicants

When they say it’s entry level but you need work experience, it’s because of the pay

Or they hit you with the if you’ve done said thing, “how many years of experience doing ______” so it kinda invalidates any projects you’ve done, cause whose doing projects for a specific platform or tool for a year plus? Only so much you can do in a lab and project environment, before you just need real enterprise reps/ professionals experience

These way the job market is created and these companies have it is so F’ing rigged the way the work system is, interviews questions etc. like you can literally see everything on the Resume for 1. 2 everything shouldn’t require all these years of experience and degrees shouldn’t be a thing I swear we only live one life and they have the system to make us feel worthless no american citizen seeking/working a job should struggle to find work nor should the compensation pay be way less than enough to live independently. Why does cost of living rise but wages stay? S L A VERY

what it means is that you’re either a unicorn of an entry level professional or they’re just going to hope for another overqualified person who’s desperate

well if you're a lawyer then how about you force everyone to take that damn questionnaire off because if it's if it's supposed to be entry that means no skill or experience with it they should be forced to take it off and hire who is wanting to learn not before to say oh never mind they want 3 years in manufacturing when really they're lying saying they don't need it because they teach it
