@viva_d_diva: When people over 40 are facing homelessness, families are moving back in with their parents, and parents can’t afford childcare without a job, but can’t get a job without childcare… what are we supposed to make of this? People are describing a growing cycle of financial hardship, from struggling to find stable housing to relying on food pantries and reporting food that is expired or moldy. These experiences don’t prove a recession on their own, but they raise serious questions about the cost of living, access to resources, and the financial pressure families are facing. Are you seeing these struggles in your community? Have you or someone you know had to make similar sacrifices just to get by? Let’s talk about it. Share this video, repost it, and help bring more attention to what people are experiencing. #economy #inflation #job #moneytok #recession

I wish more people realized they are ONE major life event away from being homeless. Just one event. One illness. It’s hard and really scary out here.

I went down the rabbit hole of these videos and listen when I say this... NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN REPEATING!!!
I make really good money, and I had to stop eating one meal out the day to save money for gas just to go to and from work.

Also lot of jobs don’t even pay enough to afford daycare. I have a bachelors degree and jobs want to pay 18-20 and hour. That’s 2,800-3200 a month. Daycare costs about 1,000 a month. So you’re left choosing between daycare to keep going to work or your basic needs to survive.

The food pantry ones bug me so much. People are hungry and receiving molded/expired products? Heck no!

It sunk in for my parents when my mom said she was getting paid $18/hr for a store manager in 1989. That’s the equivalent of $40/hr. Managers at my job are only making $23/hr. No one can afford anything. Prices of goods and services have skyrocketed and wages have not kept up. “You guys are getting screwed!” -my parents.

It’s sad that food banks really do just give out molded, expired and rotten food. The produce is the produce that gets dropped on the grocery store floor and kicked around a few times

Why are we having kids if we can’t afford it??????????? Like if you know the cost of living is hard then you have to understand that having kids isn’t right for you. If you intentionally have kids knowing you can’t afford them I think you should be held accountable for child neglect.
