john deere make paddles that mount on the 2 holes on the chains and we run then on all 5 of our heads and it makes a world of difference

Flip the center 2 rows of gathering chains backwards. we did that on our 612C. makes them more aggressive and helps pull the fluff in. Fought it for a long time before figuring that out.

That’s the issue with c12r corn heads. Theres an upgrade kit for the center snouts to fix the angle.

Our old Massey combine corn head would do this all the time we made a custom real with paddles run off the real speed to fix this issue.

Flip your gathering chains around and line the cogs up. It’ll fix the issue! I’ve ran them like that for 3 years.
