$“Breastfeeding is free.” But nobody talks about what the woman pays. She burns extra calories producing breast milk. Her body mobilises calcium to support her baby’s needs. Her hormones undergo significant changes. She deals with back pain, body aches, sleepless nights, and sometimes cracked, bleeding nipples. And that is just a fraction of what breastfeeding can demand from a woman physically and emotionally. Yes, breast milk does not come with a price tag. But producing it and feeding a baby can take a real toll on the mother’s body, time, comfort, and wellbeing. This is not to discourage breastfeeding. Breastfeeding has enormous benefits for both mother and baby. It is a reminder that when we celebrate breastfeeding, we must not forget the woman doing the breastfeeding. Mothers deserve more than praise for their sacrifice. They deserve practical support, adequate nutrition, rest, and people willing to help with the baby. Because breastfeeding may be free at the point of delivery, but it is certainly not cost-free for the woman. Support the mother, not just the breastfeeding. Breastfeeding awareness, maternal health, postpartum recovery, lactation, newborn care, breastfeeding challenges, new mothers, maternal nutrition, and postpartum wellbeing are all part of this conversation. #draizident #tallnigeriandoctor$

Mix Media Animation of “Small Talk” by @ovrkast. & @Samara Cyn . Every single frame is manually animated by hand on paper. This might be my favourite animation so far on my page, the negative space animation at 6 seconds is definitely in my top 5 animations ive ever done! Let me know what your favourite animation was in the comments and if you’d like to see a process video for this animation! To celebrate Ovrkast’s new album release I thought I’d animate my favourite song of his! I’m just so in love with his production and use of samples throughout his music. I had a very hard time selecting what section to animate as there are so many great moments in this song, but settled for the beginning of Samara Cyn’s verse as she absolutely kills it. The repetition of “Sound like you owe me some money” is just so passive aggressive and cunty i love it. Though animating the typography took so long I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy(I am very happy with how it turned out atleast). I am in love with Ovrkast’s new song “KNOCK” so let me know if any of you would like to see a mix media animation of that! #mixmediaanimation #paper #framebyframe #analog #samaracyn
