Melt-in-Your-Mouth Red Wine & Mushroom Minute Steak This is a recipe you’ll definitely want to save for Shabbat! Tender, melt-in-your-mouth minute steak simmered in the most delicious red wine, mushroom, and onion sauce. So cozy, flavorful, and always a crowd-pleaser! Inspired by Sina Mizrahi, whose recipes remind me of all the delicious home-cooked food I grew up eating. ❤️ I’ve made a few tweaks and shortcuts over the years to make this one-pan dish even easier. A little prep, and then the stove does the rest! Ingredients: * 2.5–3 lbs minute steak fillets * 2 large onions, sliced * 2–3 cups white mushrooms, sliced * 1 tbsp olive oil * 1 heaping tbsp chicken consommé * 1 heaping tbsp onion soup mix * 1 cup hot water * 1–1½ cups red wine * 3 dried bay leaves * 1 tsp salt * 1 tsp black pepper Directions: 1. Heat olive oil in a large, deep pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until softened and golden. 2. Add the mushrooms and continue sautéing until softened and lightly browned. 3. Sprinkle in the chicken consommé and onion soup mix. Stir to combine. 4. Pour in the hot water and red wine, scraping up all those delicious bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a gentle boil. 5. Nestle the minute steak fillets into the sauce, layering them if needed. I always pack my pan because there’s never enough of this meat! 6. Add the salt, black pepper, and dried bay leaves. 7. Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook on low for 1½–2 hours, until the meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender. Baste occasionally and serve over rice or mashed potatoes to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce! Save this recipe now so the next time you’re wondering what meat to make for Shabbat, you’ve got a winner ready to go! ❤️ Recipe adapted from @sinamizrahi Festive Wine-Braised Minute Steak. #shabbatrecipes #shabbatdinner #kosherrecipes #minutesteak #cozy
