@macdeechidavaenzi: #flashbackfriday The year is 2005, and I was working at 2 studios: Countryboy Studios, owned by Innocent Utsiwegota, and Connected Studios, as a partnership with Philemon Gezi. During those days, we had the ruling urban kings, Chamhembe Compilations by @takefizzo and Chigutiro by the late TBA (MHSRIP). We decided to come up with our own compilation, produced by me and Flash Gordon. Now, I didn’t know any big artists, and that’s when Phidza called @alexiokawaramusic , a popular artist already by that time, from songs like Maidei, Kumba Kwenyu, Amai and Chigubvugubvu. Alexio did not hesitate to give me a chance to use my creativity in making his song, which we did overnight because he had to go to work at ZBC Radio 2 then. Long story short, I didn’t disappoint, and I produced Musikana Akanaka, which became the song that replaced Ndizvo Chete by Mafrique at the number 1 spot on Power FM The song became one of Zimbabwe’s biggest urban groove songs and remains a classic to date. I owe my gratitude to Alexio for trusting me to handle his work at his prime. Without this opportunity, I would have taken longer to grow as a music producer. #eternity4lyf #music #zimbabwean
