This happened to a friend of mine, he had a classic Olds Cutlass. He was dropping his kid off at school, he heard sirens behind him, he saw the police chasing a car, he used his car to protect the kids, and it got sideswiped real bad. The insurance company told him since he willfully put his car in harm’s way, they would not cover the damage. He ended up fixing it, but it cost him a lot of money and time!

Life insurance :
I don’t really think that’s true in this situation, the car was driving on the opposite side of the road. The police can clearly and obviously make a report of the criminal being at fault, and thus the insurance company has to make their judgment based on that report.
