I wasn't really looking into this fragrance. However, my sister over at @Palace of Perfumes had it in stock and I thought... Why not? 👀 Thank you for the speedy delivery and amazing customer service. Let's get into it. Scent Breakdown 🍋 Opening That initial hit of lime is sensational. Then the lemon comes in with its tartness, and I love how you can distinguish both citrus notes rather than them blending into one generic citrus smell. Then comes the coconut. And this is creamy coconut, not that coconut water type of vibe. The mango joins the coconut and brings that sweet, syrupy character. What a beautiful opening. 🌸 Dry Down A beautiful burst of florals comes through and adds some character. And honestly, I think this is exactly what's needed to stop the fragrance becoming overly sweet. The pepper is there too, but it's not loud. That was absolutely the right direction to take with this fragrance. It adds a little something without ruining that tropical feel. 🪵 Once Settled Tonka brings its trademark almond-like sweetness, whilst the woods add some serious depth to the base. Musk rounds everything off beautifully. It's creamy, sweet, woody and incredibly well balanced. Very well executed. 📈 Performance Projection: 2-3 hours strong Sillage: Room-filling Skin: 6-7 hours Clothes: 7-8 hours 👔 When & Where To Wear Summer. Sunshine. Holidays. This is exactly where I see Island Sun coming into its own. Daytime outings, holidays, casual wear or whenever you want something tropical, sweet and uplifting. And I hold my hands up and admit... I was wrong. 😂 It's stunning. The opening alone had me questioning why I hadn't picked this up sooner. That lime, lemon, creamy coconut and mango combination is beautiful, and the florals stop it becoming another overly sweet tropical fragrance. Then you've got the tonka, woods and musk bringing everything together. It's a very well-rounded fragrance, and the performance is nothing to complain about either. But here's my problem... This wasn't available in summer when I needed it! 🥲 So it's getting stored away, ready to come back out next year at the slightest sight of sunshine.
