This handsome boy has a sweet, affectionate side and eagerly greets people with kisses and a wagging tail. Volunteers have seen him solicit pets, enjoy cuddles, and show off his playful personality. He has also enjoyed zoomies and chase games with other dogs during playgroup. Zorro is a high-energy young dog who loves to run, play, sniff, and be around people. He will need continued work on leash manners and appropriate play. ⚠️ IMPORTANT BEHAVIOR HISTORY: Zorro was returned shortly after adoption in October 2026 following reports that he attempted to go after the adopter’s dog. The owner also reported that Zorro jumped a fence and went after a neighbor’s dog, resulting in a bite incident. Shelter and volunteer observations also note dog reactivity, and he can become overexcited during play. He needs an experienced placement that can safely manage his behavior and prevent access to other dogs. ❤️ MEDICAL NOTE: Zorro is heartworm positive. Dallas Animal Services prescribed a 28-day course of doxycycline as part of his heartworm treatment protocol. He will need appropriate veterinary follow-up and continued care. 💔 Zorro is still a young dog with an affectionate, playful side, but he needs the right placement, appropriate management, and a committed rescue or adopter prepared for his medical and behavioral needs. 🙏 PLEASE SHARE ZORRO!
