@earthsignalofficial: October 8, 2026 | North America A triple tropical threat is unfolding across North America, with Hurricane Isaias, Tropical Storm Simon, and Tropical Storm Rachel all active at the same time. In the Gulf of Mexico, Hurricane Isaias has strengthened to 100 mph, with hurricane and storm surge warnings in effect along parts of the northern Gulf Coast. The National Hurricane Center says preparations for damaging winds and storm surge should be completed as soon as possible. Off southwestern Mexico, Tropical Storm Simon has reached 70 mph and is close to hurricane strength, with a hurricane warning issued for part of the coast from Punta San Telmo to Playa Perula. Heavy rain from Simon’s outer bands is already affecting southwestern Mexico. Farther west in the Pacific, Tropical Storm Rachel is weakening while remaining well offshore, with no coastal watches or warnings in effect. Three storms. Three different regions.
