@julanne101: So Jesus and his followers were at a Jewish festival. CSB calls it the festival of shelters, NIV says the feast of tabernacles. It’s Sukkot; Feast of Booths—“is a seven-day autumn festival in the Bible where the Israelites lived in temporary outdoor shelters to remember their journey through the wilderness and celebrate the final agricultural harvest.” “On the final "Great Day" of the feast, Jesus offers "living water," drawing on the water-pouring ceremonies practiced during Sukkot.” In the CSB the subtitle of the verses is that promise of the spirit. Verse 39 actually says what He is talking about. “By this he meant the spirit” the Holy Spirit. “While this specific phrase may not directly quote from a single Old Testament verse, it reflects the themes found in the scriptures about the outpouring of God's Spirit and the life-giving water He offers. Verses like Isaiah 44:3 and Joel 2:28 emphasize God's promise to pour out His Spirit, which resonates with Jesus' invitation in John 7:38.” So rivers, not a trickle, a flow of the Holy Spirit. “Words carry life; presence brings peace, love reflects the heart of God. You don’t have to generate this river. You simply have to stay connected to the Source and let it flow” Keep Living • Keep Loving #christiantiktok #bibleverse #bible #verseoftheday #jesus
