@eatshistory: A meal aboard Magellan’s ship #History #Recipe

NeuroSzpieg :

ironic since he became a meal himself 😅

iloveteethisitweird? :

if I remember correctly Magellan wasn't offed by Lapu-Lapu or his men, Magellan was offed by a crew member not wanting to give the honorable victory Lapu-Lapu group deserve

Voron :

We're proud to have hacked him. Although, a traffic choke point, an exclusive village, and a few townships are named after him here.

happycamper156 :

“Hacked to death in the Philippines” & I thought I’d had some bad holidays.

DanPopp :

If you want to properly credit the first people to circumnavigate the globe, credit Magellans Filipino slave (can't recall his name) and the Basque captain Juan Sebastian de Elcano. Elcano was also the first one recorded to sail straight across the Indian ocean from the Phillipines to the southern tip of Africa. Unbeknownst to him, he was sailing against an oceanic current, so it took 2 months instead of the 1 he calculated. It was rough, to say the least.

Phoenixcoreholly2001 :

thank god for the founder of modern culinary: Chick Phil Ey McDonalds

CPinho :

Magalhães, not Magellan.

Massau :

The 1st one who circumnavigate the globe is his slave. Enrique de malacca. Or what the malay calls him Panglima Awang Hitam

mnemosyne529 :

Dulce de membrillo is delicious, one of my favorites.

Nick Leonard🇨🇦 :

this could make a crazy historical film, told from the perspective of one of Magellans slaves

GenXWarrior :

Juan Sebastian Elcano was the first to circumnavigate the Earth.

Bam-Bam :

I think you mean “colonizer” not explorers. There was already people who knew about the places he went, the locals. He didn’t find anything knew
