My investment firm does a little more but every time I see at the end of the year how much I paid for their services I question why I don’t just buy an index fund. They outperform most funds most every year. The long term returns have been good though and I don’t want to figure out the taxes. My main complaint is between 1 and 2 percent doesn’t sound like much but on a sizable investment it’s a lot. The part that gets me is it isn’t more work to make a thousand dollar trade as it is a hundred dollar trade, say.

More like paying a dietitian to tell you to eat healthy, and the dietitian tell you ‘your calorie maintenance for your age is 2500, so you should eat x y and z’ the point is for a ton of people it’s simple to do it yourself, but some people would rather pay more to be told what to do
