Together is usually said when talking to someone about an activity you did with someone! example: “ Sarah and I went to the coffee shop together.” or “Sarah and I are going to the coffee shop together.” Along is used when asking someone to do something with you! Example: “I’m going to the coffee shop, would you like to come along?” Along isn’t used often, it’s easier to ask someone to “come with” instead!

Along is like moving with / matching direction. Ex. “I traveled along the road” or “she went along with me.” Together is like same place / same time. Ex. “We traveled together” or “we were at school together”

“She came along and we enjoyed some coffee.” “She came with me and together we enjoyed some coffee!” She came along and together we both enjoyed coffee!” All 3 make sense! 🙂🥰 you can use the words in different ways depending on the way you set up your sentence. 🥰

they’re similar but a little different - for example, "We traveled together" emphasizes the shared experience, while "I went along with her" suggests that she was going somewhere and you accompanied her

Hun, I get why your nervous but there really isn't a reason to be. Give yourself some credit where credit is due. You're learning a difficult language and you've come so far.

They can mean the same things, but also different! “Together” is usually used to describe 2 or more people going somewhere (example: “the five of us are going to the party together” )or being something (example: “me and her are together in a relationship”). Along usually means actively going somewhere (example: “me and her are walking along the path”). You can also use the word together and an extra word to replace the word along (example: “me and her are walking together on the path,” with on being the added word). English is very confusing, but you’re doing great! It’s ok if you freeze up, it happens to everyone, and I honestly think you are really good at thinking and using the word you’re looking for!

I would say together is more for doing an activity together or being together. For example “We are going together to the store.” Along is more for behavior of people so like “We will get along” meaning we will be good friends and our personalities will match. Along can also be a direction. So like “The sidewalk runs along the road.” I really hope this helps Mary!! 🫶🫶🫶

We “do something together” OR “I bring you along with me”. The difference is that “together” means we both feel the same, “along” often implies one person was influenced by the other.

Along can be used like this. I’m going to a party and my freind is comming along. But it’s more of a descriptive word. We walked along the path. We walked along the beach

Along is kinda complicated. Context will determine the meaning. “We’re getting together” means we are going to hang out. “We’re getting along” can mean we are nice to each other. Then theres along like “we walked along the shore”

I have a genuine question is it true that people who learn English as a second language have to think about every word before saying it

In general, the words “together” and “alone” are opposites. However, you can say that a group is doing something “alone” to mean that that it excludes other people from participating. For example, you could say to your kids: “Your dad and I are going to the store alone,” meaning, no kids are allowed to come this time. You’re doing great! 😊

Together is with others an example is “me and her are together” alone can be used when you are by yourself or your with someone going alone somewhere and along mean like you are getting along or im bringing her along aka im taking her
