@990ean: Queen Tamar, also known as Tamar the Great, was one of the most important rulers in Georgian history. She was born into the Bagrationi royal dynasty and ruled Georgia from 1184 to 1213. She is often described as the first woman to rule Georgia in her own right, and she was given the title “King Tamar” rather than simply queen, reflecting her authority as monarch. During her reign, Georgia experienced its Golden Age, a period of great political, military, economic, and cultural development. The Georgian army won important victories at the battles of Shamkor in 1195 and Basiani around 1202. Georgia also expanded its regional influence and became a powerful state in the Caucasus. Literature, architecture, and religious art flourished, and the famous poet Shota Rustaveli created The Knight in the Panther’s Skin. Tamar died in 1213 and remains a symbol of Georgia’s strength and greatness. | #kingtamar #tamarmefe #georgia #History #viral
