@TAS: A backyard, in ground swimming pool. We didn’t have one but we had a summer home on a lake 2 1/2 hours away. Opened it up on Mother’s Day in May. Weekend after school was out, we went up there in two cars. Mom and the kids stayed and Dad went home to run his businesses. All our summer neighbors had the same arrangement so we had summer friends then at home was our school pals. After middle school, we’d each stop going up there for summer. Weekends, yep. I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor weekdays at the community pool.

In the 60's, my mom packed us lunches for school. I thought the kids who got baloney sandwiches were rich. We only got peanut butter and jelly until I was in 10th grade.

More than 2 bedrooms with one bath for family of 6. 😂. Air conditioning or heat that wasnt a wood stove. Also a shower, never had shower until adult! Side note, I was clean, just a bathtub. 😂 🥰

When people have a bathroom with hot water and a toilet in the house. I grew up poor on a farm. Hard days and struggles make you humble & kind. Money cannot buy health or your way to heaven. 🙏💔😇

So I can tell you that we, while my sister and I grew up in a home that was under 500 square feet. We had two bedrooms and one bathroom, a teeny, tiny bathroom indoor toilets, but if it was anything bigger than that, they were rich. Everybody around us was rich. We were very poor

New clothes ! I had so many hand me downs from family !! Mostly boys clothes, my dad insisted I get a new dress cause I'm his daughter & needs to look like one ... once in awhile !! 😂💯🥰😈

my grandparents had a China cabinet in the cabinet, was a carrot shaped and celery, shaped salt and pepper and therefore, I thought they were rich, lol when my grandma passed the salt and pepper shaker is the only thing that I asked for besides her teacup the birds on it

Also wanted to add, I wouldn’t trade my childhood, where I was raised in the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina for anything! I never felt deprived 🥰
