@apstats.knowie: AP Statistics Unit 2.6: Conditional Probability Here is a full tree diagram worked out for a positive screening test in AP Statistics, showing the real chance you actually have the condition. A tree diagram maps out the multiplication rule by multiplying along the branches to find joint probabilities. It is tempting to look at the second set of branches and read them as simple overall probabilities. But because the disease changes how the test behaves, those second branches are conditional. To find the chance you have the disease after testing positive, divide the path for disease-and-positive by the sum of all paths ending in positive. Save this for your next probability test. #apstatsexam #studytok #conditionalprobability #treediagrams
