Chicken Tikka Daal Ingredients: • 1 chicken breast, cubed • 4 tbsp yogurt • 1 tbsp coriander powder • 1 tbsp black pepper powder • 1 tbsp paprika • ½ tbsp ginger-garlic paste • ½ tbsp salt • Juice of ½ lemon • Few drops red food colour • 1 cup rice, soaked overnight • Pinch of turmeric • 2 onions, chopped/sliced • 5 tbsp oil • 1 cinnamon stick • 1 star anise • 4–5 whole red chillies • 1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder • ⁠1 tbs cumin • 2 tomatoes, chopped • 2 tbsp tomato purée • 3/4 tbsp chana dal broth • 1 tbsp chicken powder • Fresh coriander Method: Marinate the chicken with yogurt, all spices and red food colour. Set aside for 1 hour. Pressure cook the soaked rice with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, 1 onion and 1 glass of warm water for 8–10 minutes. Heat oil in a pan and cook the marinated chicken until fully cooked and the water dries up. Remove and set aside. In the same oil, sauté onion, cinnamon, star anise and whole red chillies. Add Kashmiri chilli powder, then tomatoes and tomato purée,Add chana dal broth and boiled chana dal. Mix well, then add chicken powder and cooked chicken.
