IMO gears should always be about humans versus locust. or swarm. pendulum wars serves its primary purpose as a story backdrop to set the scene for the true climactic conflict of their planet’s history. this type of idea could be easily covered in comics or books. it’d be cool to learn about no doubt, and maybe in a perfect world it’d be a cool game, but at the rate gears games come out, they need to focus on the core identity/conflict. it’s like cliffy B has said on record, gears fans don’t want to fight robots. imo same principle applies to human vs human. if anything, a locust versus lambent DLC needs to come before something like this.

The UIR side of the locust war was bad they got wiped out by the Locust then the hammer of dawn strikes wiped out even more of them leaving only a small fraction left

I want the UIR to find the facility where mira is at, raid it, and its about them trying to get her away from the cog, and fighting the locust only to help the locust seal themselves in the planet. not knowing what would happen much later

Karn wiped the UIR out that was their e day. Personally I think it should be a pendulum war game where we get the UIR side of it since through lore and previous games we got the cog side already

Idea for gears 6 the remnants of the UIR learned about how the coalition made the locusts problem, angered by how peace was lost twice do to the mistakes. The UIR starts a super soldier program of their own and making their on hive mind army. now there’s a three sided war between the new locust, the gears, and UIR. Only way to stop it is for Kate to merge the hive minds and find a way to peace.
