@pawportunities_rescue: Meet Baby Boo, a 6 week old beagle mix puppy. The only one we were given from his litter. After his arrival, we figured out why. This itty bitty has something called staph pyoderma, which is a superficial bacterial skin infection. This baby’s hind feet are affected the worst as they are swollen, inflamed, and tender. It’s beginning on one front paw, a place on his back, and along the length of his tail. It is generally not thought to be contagious to humans or other animals - although it is still advised to wash your hands and keep separate from other animals in case it happens to be triggered by an underlying cause. It occurs in puppies as they have a weakened immune system. Treatment is to apply a topical cream one to two times daily, and give a medicated bath once or twice weekly. Visual improvements should be seen in about three weeks, at which time you can integrate Baby Boo with the animals in your home. Baby Boo is absolutely adorable, and has already mastered beagle baying! 🤭 Baby Boo needs a foster or foster to adopt home. Head on in to our shelter, to meet him. You poor little thing. First you need a big stuffy to cuddle and a home. You must be so scared. I hate people that do things like this.
