@c5news: A policeman is being hailed a hero after saving a motorist trapped inside a sinking vehicle. The New York State trooper rescued the man from a boat launch in Cayuga County, with the help of a bystander, on October 4. Trooper Christopher Cady was called to reports of the vehicle sinking at Cross lake Marina in Cato, New York, and after entering the water, used a window punch to smash his way through the vehicle’s sunroof. A member of the public helped him free the man. The New York State Police said the actions of Cady and the bystander prevented a potentially tragic outcome.
