Didn’t know a TikTok about my life would get so much hate over how much school costs… the 4 year colleges around here cost about $137,000 (that’s with tuition, housing, and food) on top of that there would be interest on student loans which would be round ABOUT $200,000 total.

I got my ASN in 2 years at a community college and then got my BSN online through Purdue while I worked full time and the hospital I worked at paid for it.

You’re wrong slightly. You can receive a RN from a community college but will be very limited on your choice of employment. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from a community college does not qualify you for every nursing job, though it allows you to work as a licensed Registered Nurse (RN)

Not all BSN programs put you in $200,000 in debt btw!! My mom is getting her ADN at the same time as I’m getting my BSN, and her program is the same length, and not that much cheaper. A lot of large hospital systems don’t hire ADNs anymore, so it may be harder to get a job!

Yep, because when you check the board of nursing, it says active and not where you went to gain that active license.

Then work as an RN and your employer probably has tuition reimbursement! Get that BSN easily!

you still need pre recs before even a lot of community colleges accept you for the nursing program

There are a boatload of prerequisites you have to complete before you start the actual RN program, pretty difficult to graduate by 20.
