@meganthelesbian: Sometimes I think about things that I feel like no one else is thinking about. But genuinely how did that come about because that’s crazy and they still don’t know why it works #comedy #funny #fyp #medical #how
our intestines are a microbiological terrarium.
there are some animals who need to eat poop for the bacteria to survive.
otherwise its great for overall wellness to correct those who's intestines who need it

It’s oral! I was very close to needing one when I had c diff. And TRUST I would have done it to help with c diff. There is not much worse than c diff.

My mom had c diff when I was in high school and I remember her being like “I might need some of your poop” and being like “oh…. okay… 🧍🏼♀️”

Guys you don’t literally EAT the poop. They “clean” it of all the bad stuff and put the good stuff they need from it into capsules so you can swallow it like a pill. It restores healthy gut bacteria to people who have little to none of their own.

I'm horrified by these comments that it's oral. I knew it was real because family GI issues, but like - if they had came down and told me that? I would be like you're going to have to put me under to dispense it in my mouth I would not be able to handle that mentally.

Fecal transplants aren’t even a new concept either, they date back to 4th century China! It’s a wild concept but we do also see something similar happening in nature with Koalas! The mothers produce a special kind of poo called Pap thay the baby consumes in order to make the transition from milk to eucalyptus easier for the baby 😁

If people could get past the “ew poo” factor they’d lose their minds over how amazing they are. They’re even used in some autoimmune disease cases! Now I’m curious about the discovery of it too, I’ll have to find a vid tomorrow to watch lol.

I think it is more or less "Oh, when this bacteria is present there are no problems but when it is not there are problems so what if we add that bacteria in?"

Wait until you hear about the surgery where they stick a tooth in your eye and you can have your vision restored. It’s literally called Tooth-in-eye surgery.

Bc colony resistance (that is, the microbiome of your gut preventing overgrowth of pathogen bacteria) is well known and well studied. Look up a study on gut flora transplant between twins done on mice. The theory stood, so they tried it. It wasn’t just like random hahahah

It’s for the bacteria in the fecal matter. Not everyone has a good human microbiome, and it’s incredibly important for the body with processes like digestion, making serotonin, your immune system, or even how susceptible you are to certain chronic diseases or obesity or diabetes
