Deziree Hood, of Madison, is back in custody after investigators linked her to two alleged thefts involving men she met at Booby Trap on the River. The first incident reportedly happened August 9. A man celebrating his birthday brought a woman back to his Airbnb, where they continued drinking. Before showering and falling asleep, he placed two gold chains on a bathroom counter. His brother later reported seeing a woman hurry out of the home while speaking on her phone. When he woke his brother, the chains—valued at approximately $110,000—were missing. Investigators say fingerprints recovered from the property matched Hood, and a detective recognized her in club surveillance footage from a previous arrest. In the second reported incident, a man said he brought two women home from the same club. According to police, they arrived with Don Julio tequila, and one poured a shot into his mouth, which he spat out. His friend drank several shots. The man told investigators he could not recall the remainder of the morning. When he awoke, the women had disappeared, along with jewelry, clothing and cash from his SUV. He estimated the losses at more than $25,000. His roommate reported hearing car doors slam around 7 a.m. The man also said he noticed an unidentified substance in the remaining liquor.
