@adivunsolicited: Last month I was able to attend CBC Week with the Congressional Black Caucus. It was an amazing experience, and it felt like our ancestors were watching their vision come to life. The CBC started in 1971, when thirteen Black members of Congress refused to wait for permission. Since then, the caucus has helped win a national holiday for Dr. King and sanctions against apartheid South Africa over a presidential veto. Now, after the Supreme Court gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais, at least six CBC seats are in jeopardy this cycle. That would be the largest single-election loss of Black representation since Reconstruction. They didn't have to take our vote. They just redrew the lines so it counts for less. Our power is only as strong as our organization. The midterms are 25 days away. Check your registration, know your new district, and show up. #cbc #dc #BlackTikTok #votingrights #BlackHistory
