Hove Crown Court heard that Mark Grindon, of Swallowfield Close, Mannings Heath, Horsham, was subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order originally imposed in 2016 for making indecent images of children. Following his arrest in December 2023 with a prohibited smartphone, Sussex Police launched a complex digital investigation across his seized devices. Detectives uncovered more than 1,400 child sexual abuse images alongside 11 covert social media accounts operated under aliases. A search of his home yielded further illicit devices, laptops, SD cards, and a streaming unit. Following a Crown Court trial and further court hearings, Grindon was convicted of multiple order breaches, making indecent images of children, and failing to provide device PINs. He has been sentenced to a total of five years and four months' imprisonment and remains on the Sex Offenders Register.
