@intentional.anna: if you have adhd and nothing ever quite feels satisfying, no matter what you try — there’s a name for it, and it’s not ingratitude 🤍 it’s anhedonia (or a low-level, long-term dysphoria): that flat, gray “nothing hits the way it should” feeling. and it’s not a moral failing, it’s neuroscience — adhd brains have dopamine dysregulation, so the reward “hit” doesn’t always land when something good happens. even wins can feel oddly muted. but here’s the reframe worth sitting with: so often you’re not actually present for an experience — you’re waiting for the experience to make you feel something. “once you achieve this, once you’re the best at that, then it’ll feel like enough.” when worth gets tied to output and efficiency, even your best is never enough, because you’re chasing the feeling instead of being in the moment. and the fastest thief of presence is the phone. the endless scroll promises the satisfaction the moment already holds, and never quite delivers it. creating a little space from that is often what lets the thing in front of you actually land — a focus session with something like the Opal app to lock your other apps for a bit isn’t productivity for its own sake here, it’s protecting your ability to be present. the joy was never going to come from the next tab. the thing stealing the satisfaction isn’t the moment — it’s the belief that it needs to be more than it is. sometimes it’s allowed to just be what it is. 🎙️: @Kort (if that flatness is heavy or constant, please be gentle with yourself — it’s worth talking to someone you trust or a professional. you don’t have to white-knuckle it alone.) 💬 does this resonate? save this for a day the “nothing feels like enough” hits hard. #adhdinwomen #anhedonia #neurodivergent #adhdawareness #latediagnosedadhd

I don't relate to that at all with ADHD so maybe that means others with ADHD may relate to this but may not? It's quite a negative message to imply that this is inevitable with ADHD. Learning mindful walking/in nature earlier in life helped with this loads - I still have ADHD though x
