How I cracked the onboarding for Cloey, pt.2! I went from 18 ratings to over 100 within the same week once I shipped these changes. Last video I talked about how I restructured my entire onboarding to position a review prompt after my “aha” moment. I thought this massive change would make the reviews start rolling in. But I was still seeing ghosts in the app store. I had to make 3 more changes before the reviews started to roll in. 1. Move my review prompt to a dedicated review screen. There was too much happening on my big reveal screen and users were dismissing the review prompt without a second thought. 2. Add a Mascot and custom text to the review screen. No one connects with a generic prompt, add a cute mascot and make it unique to capture attention. 3. FORCE THEM TO RATE 😈 Just kidding, but taking out the “not now” button skyrocketed my reviews.
