My ex shaved his chest one time and I was like tf??? and he said he read how swimmers shave their body for speed (resistance, but that’s a big word for Elmo) and he said he shaved his chest to bench press faster. Last conversation with my ex-husband before I filed for divorce. It just clicked, and I quit listening or arguing back. The realization that, no amount of logic or reason could change his mind, because he was so willfully blind. After that every accusation was a confession, every insult an admission of his own insecurities.
