@couriercolorado: Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is pushing back after the DOJ filed a lawsuit against the city over its law enforcement mask ban. The Justice Department argues the city cannot dictate how federal officers perform their duties and says the restrictions could endanger agents. Denver’s law prohibits masks and requires identifying information such as a name or badge number. Johnston defended the policy as a public-safety and accountability measure, saying residents should know whether the person approaching them is actually law enforcement. “We will fight to the very end on this battle,” Johnston said. “That’s the way to keep the city safe.”
