I actually liked the movie but can definitely see why people wouldn't like it...I did not like the ending though cuz I didn't understand who took the kid and why?!? maybe I missed something

I loved it. But I think Gillian Anderson’s character should have survived. And based a spin off show or movie off her character.

I saw an interview where Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington explained that the film was never really meant to focus on who the kidnappers were, but more on morality and exposing people’s true character when faced with fear and desperation. It makes you question, was Mark really a good person, or was he just good at presenting himself as one? I think that was the whole point of the film. It wasn’t about who the bad guys were, but what people are capable of when their morals are put to the test.
