@jsaavedraaa: Yesterday was probably the most traumatic day of our lives. Something we never imagined would happen to us became our reality. I’m posting this to spread awareness, not for sympathy. This is a very vulnerable post for me because, if you know me, you know I’m very private and don’t post anything negative on social media. But I think this is important to share. Our house caught on fire after our e-bike battery exploded while charging overnight. The explosion caused our garage to go up in flames around 7 a.m., while my mom and my two dogs were asleep inside. Our gardener arrived just seconds before the explosion. Everything happened so quickly. Fire spreads FAST, and you can see in the video how bad it got. My mom called me frantically from inside the house, telling me there was a fire. I immediately called 911. Thankfully, I was already on my way home, exiting the freeway just five minutes away. With help from some neighbors, our gardener got my mom and my dogs out safely. As I turned onto the main street leading to my neighborhood, all I could see was smoke and it was coming from my home. My heart sank. I couldn’t believe it. I thank God for sending our gardener at that exact moment, for helping save my mom’s and my dogs’ lives, and for keeping our home from burning to the ground. This could have been so much worse. I also want to thank the firefighters and everyone else who showed up to help. I’m incredibly grateful to our family for coming together and showing up without even having to be asked. Your support meant more to us than I can express. And to my mom, who bravely opened the garage despite the smoke and the risk of being burned so our gardener could help stop the fire from spreading through the entire house, I’m beyond grateful you’re safe. If you have an e-bike, I hope our experience serves as a wake-up call, just as it did for us. We never imagined this could happen to our family or our home. I’m so grateful to God that my mom and my dogs are alive and safe. #fire #orangecounty#ebike
