@candilissa: Hey y’all, I am reacting to a video by @Knaledge21519 capturing an immigrant man who was denied food stamps/EBT at a local DSS office. The man filmed himself in a very argumentative way with the caseworkers and began to be the staff. Once he was denied, escalating into a racial slur towards one of the caseworkers calling her, the N-word amongst the other obscenities. He was escorted out by security. The reason for his denial was because he voluntarily quit his job. The taxpayer funded supplemental nutrition and assistance program SNAP, has strict work guidelines in order to be eligible for the program which he did not meet. His reaction was very unhinged, and he even threatened to go steal food or commit criminal acts because of the denial. In this country, we have food banks, soup kitchens, food pantries that would provide a hot meal for this person and there was no need to behave that way with the caseworker who was simply following the rules of the SNAP program. I found it interesting that he went to a racial slur for his insult, highlighting the fact that we are not the same people group, and they know it. Keep delineating, family. See this is exact reason why when I worked at DCF here in Florida I did not want to work with the public. It is not her fault you got denied. She will risk her job approving you just for the Supervisor to go right behind her and take your benefits away.
