And the worst phase of that is you can't do the action yet. I am still waiting, stuck with anxiety, and I can't do anything about it.

Im very anxious person. Lost my only brother and everything is calmed since. I have faced the biggest fear of my life, feel like everything else will be less scary from now onwards

My dad died yesterday. I've grieved his loss for three years. Yesterday when I tried to resuscitate his warm body my palpitations and chest pains finally stopped and haven't come back since. I'm heartbroken, but I'm not longer anxious. 💔

I usually ask myself, "What's the worst that can happen and can I survive it". If the answer is yes ( and it always is) I stop worrying g about it.

What about after it happens and you start to think about all the imaginary ways it could have gone instead

when my daddy passed, it freaked People out how calm I was. this was exactly it. the thing I was the most scared of, happened. now we deal instead of being terrified

This actually happened for me when I was drowning in the Ocoee river. Death has always given me anxiety even though I know by faith what’s on the other side. But once I was in the water unable to come up for air, a sense of peace and calming came over me and I wasn’t afraid. I know it was God who gave me that peace. He told me all would be ok no matter what happened next. If I died, I was with him, if I didn’t, he’d still be with me and I could use this story as part of my testimony. I loved what Paul said in Philippians 1:21 “to live is Christ, to die is gain.” I now longer panic when the idea of death comes to mind. My mind no longer races to all the terrible scenarios of how something could end in death for me. But I do think often, why was I saved and how can I use that to point to Him.

Yes! This is so true, once the things happened I’m either like “ oh why was I so anxious” or “ okay this is what needs doing now” and the anxiety isn’t as high anymore

Makes perfect sense I fear everything yet in a crisis I’m the one who holds it together probably because I’ve already practiced in a way 🤷🏼♀️
