My Garden Peas & Taters 🫛🥔 Ingredients • Fresh garden peas, strung and washed • Potatoes, quartered • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening • Salt, to taste • A little water Instructions 1. String your peas, removing all strings. If they’re too long, break them in half. 2. Wash the peas well and drain. 3. Add the peas to a pressure cooker. 4. Add the vegetable shortening and salt to taste. 5. Add as many quartered potatoes as you’d like. 6. Pour in a little water - just enough for pressure cooking. 7. Secure the lid on the pressure cooker and turn the stove on high. 8. Once the cooker starts jiggling, reduce the heat and cook for 8 minutes. 9. After 8 minutes, carefully place the pressure cooker in the sink. 10. Slowly release the steam by lifting the jiggler. If your pressure cooker allows it, you can run cold water over the lid to help release pressure. 11. Once all the steam is gone, carefully open the lid. 12. Check the potatoes and peas to see if they’re done. If there’s still too much liquid, place them back on the stove and cook a little longer until the water cooks down. This is something my daughter loves. I’m not big on peas, but she loves them. Let me know if you try them. Y’all hungry? #MamawGailCooks #peas #peasandtaters #potato #EasyRecipe
