I had a very contentious divorce and my ex-husband literally would call the cops for welfare checks every.single.day for months as a form of harassment… and every single time the sheriff would come into my house no questions asked. And they knew what the deal was, but they also had a responsibility and a level of liability that could occur that one time they didn't come in.
