@samanthacostlow: Replying to @nathan.t let’s use our observation skills before saying a mom is hurting her son #firsttimemom #youngmom #sahmlife #sahm #motherhood
Not to mention he will tell u if it hurts, no baby is gonna just deal with pain and not cry if something is hurting them🤦♀️🤣

As a mom who used to think the same, ur wrong. Their elbows and shoulders can both dislocate doing this, or even when they’re holding onto ur fingers/hand while standing/walking if they fall. My eldest son had it happen 3x on both sides before he was 18m old.

I have 3 boys, age 6, 8 & 10. I didn’t think you were doing anything wrong. But the comments are saying you are wrong. So I showed your other video to my mom, who has been a nicu nurse since 1996. She said THAT BABY IS FINE! 🫶🏼

babys muscles are on default settings. he hasn't learned to selectively engage his muscles. so when she uses her fingers his grip muscles and his shoulders engage. no hanging or pulling in the shoulder takes place

unfortunately i watched my coworker at a daycare accidentally pull a kids arm out of the socket doing it exactly like this. it’s way more common than you would think

it doesn't matter if they can grip or not. but kids aren't that fragile, just be careful pulling them up by their arms. kids get hurt when you yank them up by one arm not when you gently lift them.
