I’ll never forget how in Cub Scouts we were getting our swimming badge and all the other kids we were able to get theirs and I kept trying as many times as they were allowing me try and for some reason I wasn’t able to do it that day but my scout leader Brother Faler ( I used to be Mormon) made sure I knew that he was proud of me. with that bit of acknowledgment from a man in a fatherly attitude at that young of an age made me feel not only seen but encouraged. I got the badge the next time I tried and guess that’s what it’s all about. No matter the pace we’ll all end up in the same place.
