At 17 my ex suggested 50/50 and I suggested he carry 2 of the kids and I carry the other 2 !! He was like “but I’m a man” and I was all “THEN ACT LIKE ONE”

NEVER let a man tell you that parenthood is 50/50. My son is three. We agreed that I would stay home for two years and in that two years I raised him by myself. He never once took a night feeding and only really was around on the weekends. Flash forward to now and all he does is talk about how I had it so easy for two years and I’m not a full adult because my professional life isn’t nearly as far as his. He also doesn’t allow me to have anything but dead end jobs because he’s busy building his own career at nearly thirty. Never never never ladies. His daddy is also paying him to go back to school because he wasted his opportunities the first time around.

No because if you wanna do ACTUAL 50/50, then I'll carry the baby for 4.5 months, and you carry it for the other 4.5 months

big on a relationship is never 50/50 all the time. some days it's 75/25 some days is 5/95 people have good days and bad days and sometimes we need to pick up some slack.

"50/50" meanwhile they really mean that you're gonna pay half the bills and still do all the housework because he changes the oil once a year and mows the lawn sometimes

I never understood when they’d say “WE’re pregnant”, like, no your wife/gf is pregnant you’re not conjoined twins

To me making a baby is 50/50 carrying the baby is genuinely 1/99, birthing a child is 0/100, after birth care should be 60/40, but raising a child should genuinely be 50/50 and nothing less and nothing more.

Women are the only ones who can carry the child. Yes, it’s beautiful and amazing but it doesn’t automatically make the woman more of a parent. Using it as a crutch to feel like the superior parent has always been so weird to me. When my boyfriend and I start having kids they will EQUALLY be his. No he’s not carrying them, but he literally can’t 😭 he still will get a say in everything. And I fear the people who genuinely think their say is the final say just because they were the ones pregnant, are low key narcissistic. Hot take

No cause my husband when we were just dating was like “why would I expect you to pay for anything when you have to carry kids one day I’m not doing that” I was like period king I gotta marry this one. I’ve never paid a bill. I could, I know how. But that man bought me a house in only my name (our second home) a new car cause mine was garbage and pays all the bills and gives me money. Like I’ll never go back to 50/50

ngl maybe i’m looking too deep into it and i don’t mind getting educated on the topic more, but why is the pressure to stop the patriarchy and to normalize stuff when it comes to genders always on the women? like why is it always “oh y’all get sooo upset when couples pay 50/50 on a date, when a woman proposes etc” which i obviously don’t mind women doing, but why can’t it ever just start with men being decent human beings? why does women not wanting to give men EXTRA special treatment, which they already have by just being males, make everyone so mad?😭
