@sfchronicle: Uniqlo is back in downtown San Francisco — and it brought a street party with it. The Japanese clothing retailer opened its new flagship at 801 Market St. on Friday, Oct. 9, its first downtown San Francisco store since its Powell Street flagship closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. To mark the occasion, Uniqlo is hosting a free festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, with music, art, food and activities spread across Market, Ellis and Powell streets. More than 30 Bay Area artists, musicians, cultural institutions and businesses are taking part. The new location is only two blocks from Uniqlo’s former flagship, which shut down in 2021 as downtown businesses were struggling with the effects of the pandemic. The company now sees an opportunity to make a new start in a neighborhood that is still changing. Read more via the link in our bio. 🎥: Joy Jeong / S.F. Chronicle
