@healwell.pdx: There is an old Taoist idea, wu wei, often translated as effortless action: getting things done without forcing them. We think of it often in the treatment room, where the most careful work can look like very little is happening. We come to wu wei as readers. We make no claim to expertise in Taoist philosophy. We borrow the phrase because it names something we recognize in our work. Manual lymphatic drainage at Healwell rests on gentle, evidence-informed technique. Light, rhythmic movements support the movement of lymphatic fluid, and much of the skill lies in restraint: knowing how little pressure the work needs, and holding back from pressing harder. Every session is adapted to your health history, symptoms, comfort, and goals. We offer MLD for lipedema and for general lymphatic wellness.
