nope because declawing is more damaging to a cats quality of life than your furniture, see about claw clips or groomers can assist with quarterly trims to reduce or even your vet can trim them when you go for checkups. but I doubt there is a vet out there now that will perform unnecessary amputations which is exactly what declawing is.

declawing is banned where I live. it ruins their hormones and ability to defend themselves, and general quality of life. they dont remove the claw they amputate the entire top digits 🤧 its like someone breaking off all your fingertips bc you scratched the sofa

Declawing a cat can cause them severe depression and it really fucking hurts them. If you care about your cat you will not do this. If you can’t handle their claws don’t have a cat. I have two and I barely deal with their claws, i redirect their clawing when it does happen and I don’t have a lot of issues. I can’t believe you’d even consider this, it’s cruel asf

If you’re serious, best you can do is clip the nails and use those claw nail covers. I’m pretty sure it’s banned and no vet anywhere in the Bay Area would do it. Otherwise cats are not for you then.

your removing the top bone of the paws....Basically forcing them to walk on their knuckles for the rest of their life. causing pain and early arthritis. cut your cats nails yourself/actually provide things for them to scratch.

No, it is illegal to declaw a cat in California for cosmetic or convenience reasons. And thank god for that if you can’t handle your furniture being scratched up because you don’t wanna by cat furniture and play with your cat and take care of its nails rehome the cat to someone who will and get a fish or something
