My old manager couldn’t figure out why sales were dropping and in my resignation letter I created a chart that showed every meeting, check in, one-on-ones, and we had per week, and how long it took for every system we had to enter out work into and it was 28-30 hours a week, leaving us with 10-12 hours to actually attempt sales calls. They did not appreciate me calling them out 😁

I worked as a contractor, and the client decided to use our project management software because theirs had been developed in the 1980s. They quickly scrapped it when it showed that the leading cause of delays and cost overruns was due to management not making timely decisions on critical items, tasks, and an inability to set priorities.

My daughter was asked why she was so much slower than others in her position. Never mind she’s only been doing the job for a couple of months on programs that she had no knowledge with very little training and no oversight (she was part of an acquisition), and never mind the fact that she’s the only one doing everything in the entire South of her state. She gave them a very detailed reason why, so they investigated and found out that in her area, the people who send her paperwork to process have not been doing their jobs, and she has been spending extra time fixing everything. Now there’s going to be a major overhaul of the structure and a rude awakening for those people.

I remember as Windows Longhorn started derailing, our (questionable) VP asked the dev manager why they had missed a bunch of fundamental milestones. The dev manager absolutely played the idiot and just 🤷♂️After the meeting, I quietly pulled the VP aside and said why they’d missed them, and said the manager was full of shit. The VP looks at me and pretends to be intelligent, and says “I know, I just wanted to hear it from him.” I walk away, rolling my eyes. Sure you did, boss. Sure you did.

All I can think about is the time I had a group paper in college and right as I was supposed to upload it for the group, something told me to check it again. I accessed the shared file and realized that the very vocal (and equally dumb) guy in the group changed the title of the paper and made all the changes that everyone else in the group had said no to. This guy thought he could just change it and nobody would know. As if we wouldn’t have found out when we got our grade. Thankfully I had the ORIGINAL final draft that had everyone’s approval on my flash drive. I submitted that one and emailed the professor with both drafts and explained what happened. He got graded separately lol. There’s always one person screwing shit up in a group project.

I've been in state government for almost 18 years. About 10 years ago they gave us an Emotional Intelligence class and we all learned about our different working styles and were assigned colors yada yada. I'm like, yay! As a neurodivergent we can FINALLY be more open about things we struggle with in the workplace! The next day, they asked for ideas on how our team meetings could function better, I said that for me personally, I can't function first thing 8am on a Monday morning and perhaps we should pick a different day/time to meet? I was demoted. No office space is EVER a safe space.

My boss called me in for an impromptu performance review and I knew when she asked what it was going to be about so after she finished saying I was slow and needed to improve I started listing the reports that she caused to be slow through her insisting on being the only point of contact with the client for and then the directions she gave me that she later changed saying were wrong and the other people on the call were just silent until I made sure to call them out too. And then she said there are other reports and when I asked which ones she got real quiet. And ended the call on me because something came up but the call was scheduled for an hour
