@moviesheavenupdates: Sylvester Stallone had rewritten “First Blood” and played John Rambo before seeing the first cut and fearing he had wrecked his career. It ran about 3.5 hours. He later called it “a career k*ller” and recalled that he and his manager practically felt sick after watching it. Stallone swore they even tried to buy the film back so they could burn the negative. Instead, he pushed to remove much of Rambo’s dialogue, bringing the film down to 93 minutes. The cut included a scene where Rambo sh*t an owl and insulted it. He had already softened the character in the script. An earlier draft had Rambo k*lling 16 people; in the finished film, he doesn’t directly k*ll any pursuers. They also filmed Rambo’s death, but Stallone fought for him to survive. That choice opened the door to four sequels. “First Blood” went on to earn more than $125M worldwide on a budget of roughly $15-18M. Rambo or Rocky? 😅 #SylvesterStallone #Rambo #Movies
