The simplest answer is the correct. She needed all of the it. She has micro deletion.

Yes, I thought this too, and actually it appears like a lot weren't unnecessary at all. She has confirmed 1q21.1 Micro Deletion syndrome.

Bc they were all necessary due to her genetic condition

they said when a doctor grew suspicious, her mom just went to a different doctor. to be fair a lot of symptoms you can verbally tell them you're having and a lot of times they just prescribe you things.

A lot of her medical records were also lost during hurricane katrina? I think so the drs were just going off whatever the mom said

I am a victim of FDIA. Abusers are very convincing to the doctors AND to the victim. I manifested symptoms of disorders I did not have simply because of how good my abuser was at what they did. They can sabotage your health and your mind, and your mind can change your body.

All her treatments were medically necessary and documented due to her rare Microdeletion including cancer. Also Medicaid would have not covered any of those procedures at all if they weren’t necessary .

She told Gypsy’s doctors that her medical records had been lost during Katrina for a lot of it, if you know the true details about what happened during Katrina, it’s probably true. Also, there WERE some doctors who raised alarms and questioned DeeDee/the other doctors, they just hadn’t been able to gather enough evidence in time. Some of them testified/gave statements in the actual trial. There were SO MANY doctors, because DeeDee was doctor hopping too. But she wasn’t hopping to avoid care or drug seek the way doctor hoppers typically do, she was eager and willing to accept and learn the care, which takes longer to raise alarms. It’s also not super hard to get a childrens doctor to help a child too, they became children’s doctors for a reason lol if you show them a child who seems to be in pain and tell them exactly what will help that child, they’re going to do it if it’s within their ability to do. Deedee was drugging Gypsy as well, it’s not typical for doctors to run drug tests on kids unless they have reason to suspect drugs.

Ok, so Medicaid isn't going to be paying for stuff just willy nilly. There's HAS to be proof and documentation of conditions. And they most definitely won't be covering surgeries just because.

Back then it was easier for munchausen by proxy parents to torture their kids. I had so many procedures done to me and then when I was an adult and was going through my medical history with my first adult doctor - he was so confused because he said there’s no way I had some of the things I was saying I did because they would be lifelong issues / there would be evidence I had them. That began the very long trail of figuring out how many false procedures and medications I had over the years and how many lifelong complications I’ll have from them now (physical and mental). Back then records weren’t in a universally accessible electronic data base so doctors offices relied on parents being honest about other providers they were seeing and then the offices had to request records from each other. MBP parents are not honest.

If you look into the records, MSP was mentioned TWICE and DeeDee switched doctors. Also they had state insurance. The American healthcare system had a huge hand in what happened.

I think because so much of child medicine is predicated on the caregiver’s (especially the mother’s) observations. Also she seemed so caring it was a whole ruse (this is just my opinion idk)

You should listen to the podcast “no one should believe me”. The host was a victim on the same thing, and interviews other victims. Doctor shopping is real.

I moved across the country last year. And none of my son’s doctors asked for paperwork or any sort of anything from any of his old doctors. I just told them everything and they took my word on it. And my son had genetic disorders :) so I guess if you never been thru it then you wouldn’t know but it happens

I grew up in the healthcare system and doctors really will just do shit to get a paycheck. They had me on a medication that cures staph infection which is also an antibiotic for months every single day for acne. My stomach is all messed up now. And all my doctor did was see that I had pimples on my face and just decided that that’s what I needed. We took no steps to prevent acne. I didn’t even have serious acne. It was just hormones from being a teenager.

This is all I can say from personal experience— every single thing I’ve ever been diagnosed with or prescribed… I (since literally 12, I am now 30) have always told them what I’ve decided I have and what medication I think I need (not a doctor, they should be ignoring my opinion on my own diagnosis probably no shade lol) and they have proceeded to diagnose and call in the script immediately no questions asked, no anything. Deedee took Gyspy to over 50 doctors until 1 did what she wanted. I’m shocked it even took her that long.

plus doctors tend to believe parents when they say "my child has been diagnosed with X". my mom got me an emergency inhaler while we were traveling multiple times just by taking my to a random clinic and saying I had asthma and what inhaler medicine I take. since she knew, they believed her. many doctors are more likely to believe caregivers over the actual patients.

I never untold that too. Until I worked in LTC. The amount of family members that convince the Drs to do things bc the drs are p*ssies and don’t stand their ground. Or don’t care

Hey girl, you’re asking the right questions. However, you have to change the perception of what the outcome would look like.
