My aunt called and said all hotels do this and plan this year in advance Comfort is normally 200, it’s 800 now for home games and them they go back down Sunday and right back up during home games

fwiw, the Town Place by Marriott is a 2 night min at nearly $900 and it is ONLY Marriott brand pulling availability until Birmingham (and there are about a dozen options that should pull) And yes, I'd pay that over the Motel 6.

Actually this is cheap compared to Clemson. Clemson is a small isolated town and even hotels miles away for non-popular games run over a thousand. The closer you get to the stadium, prices are well over a grand. Been this way for years. (PER night btw). Oh, and for move-in weekends they are $300+ also. That's the cheapest fyi
